Group Sales & Charters

Groups

TourmobileSM Sightseeing defines a group as 20 or more people purchasing tickets together. The group is entitled to a discounted rate for use of the public service. Due to the shuttle nature of our service, with passengers getting on and off at each stop, we advise groups to assemble in smaller parties to facilitate easier movement around the route. If you prefer to keep your group together, exclusive use of a TourmobileSM tram may be arranged through the Sales Office (see Charters) based on availability.

Arlington National Cemetery Tour

Operating Schedule: Tours depart from the Visitors Center at 15-30 minute intervals. Hours of operation are 8:30am - 6:30pm Spring/Summer; and 8:30am - 4:30pm Fall/Winter. Groups should allow a minimum of 2 hours to tour Arlington National Cemetery; making stops at the Kennedy Grave sites, the Tomb of the Unknown Soldiers and the Arlington House. Prices, hours and tours are subject to change.

The Changing of the Guard ceremony occurs at the Tomb of the Unknowns every 30 minutes, on the hour and the half hour, April through September and every hour on the hour October through March. Groups are advised to arrive at the Visitors Center at least one hour prior to the designated ceremony.

Purchasing Tickets: Tickets for the Arlington tour must be purchased the day of the tour from the ticket booth in the Visitors Center as early as 30 minutes prior to first tour. The group should remain together, on their bus or in the parking area until the group leader or escort has obtained the tickets. The escort will be issued one ticket for each person in the group, which must be shown upon boarding and re-boarding the TourmobileSM trams. Upon receiving their tickets, passengers should proceed to the queue area to board tram. Reservations are not required for the tour. Advance acknowledgment (10-business days before) is appreciated. Pre-payment for group tours is permitted 15-business days in advance. Tickets are to be picked-up on the day of the tour. We accept company checks with identification, MasterCard, and Visa.

American Heritage Tour (Washington/Arlington Tour)

Operating Schedule: Tours depart from stops in Washington, DC (see tour stop map) and Arlington National Cemetery at 15-30 minute intervals with schedules posted at each stop. Hours of operation are 9:30am-4:30pm daily except Christmas Day and New Years Day. Groups should allow a minimum of 2 hours and 30 minutes riding time to complete the Washington, DC portion of the tour. We can not guarantee that groups will board together during the public tour.

Purchasing Tickets: Groups of 20 or more touring Washington are encouraged to purchase prepaid vouchers by contacting our Sales Office at (202) 488-5218. Prepaid vouchers will allow your group to begin the tour at any of our Washington, DC stops, exchanging the voucher for a regular one-day tour ticket. Another option for groups is to purchase tickets on the day of the tour at one of our ticket booth locations. Tickets can also be purchased through the local Washington, DC Ticketmaster 10 days before your scheduled tour date by calling 1-800-551-SEAT. A final option is to purchase tickets from the Washington drivers at one of the stops and complete a group form with the driver verifying that you purchased tickets as a group. Our drivers accept cash and travelers checks only. Credit card purchases may be made at Union Station and Arlington Cemetery.

Complimentary Policy

TourmobileSM Sightseeing offers one (1) complimentary ticket per twenty (20) paid passengers and one (1) complimentary ticket for the escort or driver. The complimentary policy does not apply to any prepaid discounts. Groups must consist of more than twenty (20) to receive a complimentary ticket.

Charter Arrangements and Rates

Day and Evening Programs

Day Charters

Chartering of TourmobileSM trams allows tailoring the itinerary to your group's interests and time constraints. Complete with a friendly and courteous narrator/guide and driver, a TourmobileSM tram will wait for your group at any of the major historical sites on TourmobileSM Sightseeing's American Heritage Tour of Washington, DC and Arlington National Cemetery route. Please refer to our tour stop map for a complete list of possible boarding sites.

A Day Charter (American Heritage Tour of Washington, DC and Arlington National Cemetery) is a 3-hour tour at the adult fare per person, with a minimum charge of $650.00, whichever is greater. Minimum of 50 passengers required during peak seasons.

Evening Charters

To experience the brightly illuminated vistas and landmarks of Washington, DC along the National Mall, a 3 1/2 - hour Twilight Charter Tour is offered for groups.

A Twilight Charter is a 3 1/2 - hour tour of the illuminated monuments in Washington, DC only, at the adult fare per person with a minimum charge of $650.00, whichever is greater.

Scheduling Arrangements

Please contact TourmobileSM Sightseeing's Sales Department at 202-488-5218 at your earliest convenience, but no later than at least three weeks prior to the desired date. Experience has shown that the best days to plan an exclusive charter tour are Sundays, Mondays, and Fridays. Charters are subject to availability of equipment and personnel. The minimum requirement for a charter is 50 passengers during peak seasons.

Charter service may also be available for full-day touring. There is a flat hourly rate of $150.00 per hour, for each hour requested, beyond the standard three-hour tour price listed above. Minimum of 50 passengers required during peak season.

Payment Arrangements

To charter a TourmobileSM Tram, a deposit of 50 percent of the total cost is required for confirmation. The balance must be paid at least 15 business/working days prior to the scheduled tour date.

Cancellations

Tours canceled at least 10 working days prior to the scheduled tour date will receive a full refund. Tours canceled less than 10 working days will NOT be eligible for a refund.

Please note: Charter arrangements may not be available during the following: Easter, Cherry Blossoms, peak Summer Season June 15 thru Labor Day, Holidays and Special Events. Rates, times, and tours are subject to change.
